Sarum Use antiphon and canticle for December 18, sung by Sarah James. An antiphon is a short chant that bookends a longer one, which could be a psalm or canticle. The "Canticle of Mary" (Magnificat) for example, is sung every night in the evening prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours. One purpose of the antiphon is to introduce variety in the midst of sameness. The canticles stay the same, but the antiphons change from day to day.
The week before Christmas has unusually elaborate and beautiful antiphons, each beginning with the letter "O" -- Hence their designation as the "O Antiphons." This is the second of seven - "O Adonai" (O Adonai, and Leader of the house of Israel), and it is properly sung in the Evening Prayer, six days before Christmas Eve (Dec. 18). There is an optional eighth "O Antiphon" which is a Marian hymn: "O Virgo Virginum." If it is used, then the antiphonal series is moved forward one day, to begin on Dec. 16.
The canticles, psalms, and antiphons of the Sarum Use differ slightly from those of the Roman Rite. The differences are both melodic (more florid in the Sarum) and textual (Elizabethan English rather than Latin). The best repository of Sarum Use tones is the St. Dunstan's Plainsong Psalter, which which Sarah has used for the Magnificat in this video.

O Adonai, and Ruler of the house of Israel, Who didst appear unto Moses in the burning bush, and gavest him the law in Sinai, come to redeem us with an outstretched arm!
O Adonai, et Dux domus Israel, qui Moysi in igne flammæ rubi apparuisti, et ei in Sina legem dedisti: veni ad redimendum nos in brachio extento.
