PSALM 18

I love you, Lord, my strength.

Díligam te, Dómine, virtus mea.

Ps 17:2-7

I will love you, Lord, my strength:

Díligam te, Dómine, fortitúdo mea.*

The Lord saved me because he loved me.

Salvum me fecit Dóminus, quóniam vóluit me.

 Ps 17:8-20

The earth moved and shook,  at the coming of his anger the roots of the mountains rocked   and were shaken.

Commóta est et contrémuit terra;†   fundaménta móntium concússa sunt et commóta sunt,*   quóniam irátus est.

You, O Lord, are my lamp, my God who lightens my darkness.

Tu, Dómine, accénde lucérnam meam; illuminábis ténebras meas.

Ps 17:21-30

The Lord rewards me according to my uprightness,

Et retríbuet mihi Dóminus secúndum iustítiam meam*

The word of the Lord is a shield for all who make him their refuge.

Elóquium Dómini scutum est ómnium sperántium in eum.

Ps 17:31-35

The Lord’s ways are pure;   the words of the Lord are refined in the furnace;

Deus, impollúta via eius,†   elóquia Dómini igne examináta;*

Lord, your right hand upheld me.

Déxtera tua, Dómine, suscépit me.

Ps 17:36-46

You have given me the shield of your salvation;   your right hand holds me up;

Et dedísti mihi scutum salútis tuæ,†   et déxtera tua suscépit me,*

Long life to the Lord! Praised be the God who saves me.

Vivat Dóminus et exaltétur Deus salútis meæ.

Ps 17:47-51

The Lord lives, my blessed Helper.

Vivit Dóminus et benedíctus Adiútor meus,
